It can be due to organic causes or functional causes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Nausea, abdominal pain, bloating and diarrhea can occur in both organic lesions of the gastrointestinal system or due to functional bowel disease.
It is always better to try for a diagnosis rather than take some medicine. Nexium and sucralfate are medicines meant for a peptic ulcer or acid related inflammation. The way to diagnose these would be to have a esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy ( upper GI endoscopy) done. In addition to detecting if there is any organic lesion, it would also help to know if there is an infection by H.Pylori, the organism producing gastritis and ulcers. If the same is present, eradicating the same is the solution for permanent relief.
If the endoscopy is normal, it is likely that you have a functional bowel disease for which healthy life style, healthy food which is bland and devoid of gas forming constituents, exercise and stress relief along with symptomatic treatment is the solution.
The other possibilities would be intolerance to certain foods like lactose, gliadin etc which require special tests.
