Question : Hi, yesterday I was feeling nauseous, but it was tolerable, meaning it would come and go. I developed a headache and I just went about my day. In the middle of the night, I started getting hot flashes, and the nauseous feeling came back. I decided to get out of bed, because when my stomach feels upset, I like to stay in an elevated position, and not flat. I went to the bathroom, and immediately vomited. A couple hours later same feeling, and I just made it to the washroom and vomited again. I was wondering do I have the stomach flu or could it be related to my hormones? Because it is around the same time as my cycle. I am day 10 of my cycle and ovulation is near, could the vomiting be related to the hormonal changes? I have experienced headaches with nausea before, but never have vomited. Please advise,as to what is happening and if I should go see my doctor.
thank you!

Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the nausea and headache can be due to migraine.
The vomitings and stomach upset can be due to gastritis.

                                    Hello Dr. Srilatha
I am 38 years old, and I started feeling like this yesterday afternoon. I started having a headache and feeling nauseous l, but I usually get headaches with a nauseous feeling around ovulation week. So I just went about my day like normal. My headache is in my front forehead in the middle. No blackouts or anything like that. I am 38 years with 2 children. I just still am having hot flashes and vomiting once again this morning. The hot flashes will not go away. I am wondering if my hormones are causing this. I usually have 28 day cycles with no major issues. Please advise as to what may be causing this and if I should go see my family care physician.

There might be hormonal changes
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for the information.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the headache, nausea, vomitings and hot flushes seen during the ovulation might be due to hormonal changes.
These harmonal changes might precipitate the migraine attack during the ovulation.
Some might experience the symptoms before or after the periods.
Migraine is a condition presenting with headache, nausea, vomitings and other symptoms.
Avoid precipitating factors like salty foods, alcohol, stress, excess coffee intake, excess physical exertion, tight clothing etc.
Sleep about 6-8 hours per day is advisable.
Consider consulting your doctor for proper analysis and work up headache.
Nothing to worry. It is a managable condition.
Hope this satisfies your query.
