Question : I am away from home w nausea, stomache ache and low grade fever...what is the best treatment? Can I take advil for fever w irritable bowel?
Brief Answer:
paracetamol would be a better choice for you
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The advil may further worsen any IBS symptoms so it would be best to use paracetamol (tylenol).
This should not have any effect on your IBS.
In addition to fever management, you can consider the use of medications such as dramamine or pepto bismol to see if they would help to relieve your nausea and stomach upset.
Avoid spicy/fatty/fried foods which may further aggravate your nausea.
For now small amounts of bland foods would be best.
Probiotics may also help, these have been found to be effective form GI upset in some persons.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
