Question: Hi Doctor,

My mother has gastric trouble from past 20 years. She is 50years old now and also has thyroid (detected 3months before). Recently from the last 10 days, She has been suffering from Trouble in the stomach ( pain and some uneasy sensation ) as well as vomiting sensation. And now , it turned into pain in the chest too from past few days.

We took some medicines like below but there was little improvement.

CYRA-D

GASEX ( Bottle)

Neurokind Plus

Meftal Spas

Sparacid-O Gel

After having 2 injections (Pantop Gong & Emeset Lomp) she felt better for 1/2 day.

But again the same problems like pain in the chest and uneasyness in the stomach and vomiting sensation.

We had KFT, Lipid Profile,CBC, CPK MB, CPK Total and ECG also done.

Everything Looks fine.

Please suggest what could be the problem?

We are looking for permanent solution.

Thanks
Dhana

Brief Answer:
Will take some time to heal

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in

Having evaluated all the reports attached I find them normal

Looking at the history it is very likely that she has acute gastritis

It will take some time to heal, she need to avoid spicy fried and fermented meals

Continue with Cyra D twice a day before breakfast and dinner
Liq Sparacid-O two tsf every four hours

Omit neurokind and meftal spas as we have seen them precipitate symptoms in some patients

Wait for another two or three days else go for an upper GI Endoscopy

Hope this helps

Thanks Doctor for the reply and suggestions.

I have few more doubts or questions. They may be simple for you but will clear our minds if we get the answers.

Will the higher cholesterol in blood also causes these problems?

Will the work or exercise ( walking ,etc.. ) help in improving the condition right now as well as in future to keep the gastric problem in control or do you suggest rest till the time the condition is improved?

Also, Are spicy fried and fermented meals to avoided in future as well?
We are fine with avioding Spicy food in future as well but can be the fermented food like yogurt be taken after the she becomes normal?

Please give us all your suggestions (anything like food habits,etc..) to permanently aviod having gastritis problem.

Thanks
Dhana

Barrets Oesophagus

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have just gone through the reports

The endoscopy is suggestive of Barrets Oesophagus which is a complication of long term Gastro esophageal reflux

The USG has fatty liver in her age she need to reduce fat intake and if obese reduce weight

She needs to continue treatment of GERD for a long term
Hope this clears your doubts
