Question : My son, in Indonesia now 4 days, is complaining of racing heart, nausea, vomiting, "out of breath" and "weird feelings in his throat. He says he is sweating a lot due to the local climate. He takes lithium. He is 24 years and in good health

I read your question and i understand your concern. Patient on lithium indicates some psychological disorder like bipolar disorder. Now these racing heart, nausea and vomiting symptoms with sore throat needs to be examined for any infections, like strept throat, malaria , enteric fever as tropical countries like indonesia can be suspected for such causes. He needs complete clinical correlation, work up for the cause and management accordingly. He should pay a visit to a hospital and let them help in this regard.
