Question: I am facing two problems at this time:

1. Since last few months I have a pain type feeling in my heart and occassionally I feel a little stiffness type fealing in my heart. I also have some gastric problem, are these related? I am little worried now as it did not stop even after few months.

2. I had a nerve sprain in my right shoulder about 6 years back, since then I have pain in my ring finger which often comes back. Now a days the pain is flowing into neck as well as right ear due to which I feel blockage in my right ear.

Please help me with these two issues and what actions can be taken in this regard.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
X-ray shoulder/PPI trial

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

Pain type feeling/stiffness like feeling in heart may be related to your gastric problem.Gastritis often presents with heartburn like symptoms.A trial of Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole can be undertaken, which may improve the symptoms.

Further, its unlikely that same pathology is causing right neck pain, ear blockade, shoulder and finger pain. A short course(5 days) of NSAIDS like Naproxen may prove to be helpful.Further, somatic symptoms appears to be playing their role as well. So, amitriptyline along with clonazepam may be taken.ALL MEDICINES SHOULD BE TAKEN UNDER GUIDANCE.

Hope that helps. If you have further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Thank you Sir. I would request you to please provide details in a layman's language as well so I can easily understand. I am trying to get an understanding using goggle for the technical words. But just want to avoid any mis conception at my end. Also, do you suggest MRI for the heart realted symptoms?

Thank you

Brief Answer:
ECG may be done,not MRI.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up.

If you are too concerned, about heart issue, ECG may be done, and not MRI.We don't do MRI, usually in heart related problems. In simple words, your symptoms do not appear to be of any significant disease related phenomenon. These may just be due to gastritis, neck muscle spasm, and anxiety. If you are anxious, a general examination by a physician will help.

Hope that helps. If you have further doubts, please be in follow-up.
