Brief Answer:
Yes excessive cough can cause sweating

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Ear and sinus infection can be viral or bacterial in origin. In children viral infection is much more common than bacterial and it usually involves ear, upper airway and sinuses simultaneously.Cough may be due to irritation of upper airway or spasm of airway. Both of these can occur in viral respiratory infection.

Sweating is usually associated with fever but there are so many other causes of sweating. Excessive cough can cause sweating just like sweating during exercise. As he has been diagnosed with sinus and ear infection it appears to be due to cough.

So no need to worry much.As some of the medication used in cough for relieve of bronchospasm may cause sweating.Consult your physician to rule out other possibilities and discuss with him/her the condition.

I will be glad to answer if you have any further query.

For my knowledge, can virus and bacterial infections make children sweat at night. My children seem to sweat at night when they have infections, especially toward end of them. Is it true your body sweats out virus?

Brief Answer:
No its not true

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam

Welcome again. Its not true mam, that body sweats out virus. But during stress whether it is due to exercise, infection, anxiety sweating is a common phenomena. There are thousands of sweat gland in the skin which produce sweat. The number varies person to person. The tendency to sweat too vary person to person.
If sweating occurs excessively and even without any precipitating factor then consult your physician.Otherwise don't worry much it is normal.Once again for your clarification sweating is not to clear out viruses but it is a thermoregulatory mechanism.
I hope this answers your query.
If you have any further query I will be glad to answer.
