Detailed Answer:
Hi,
First, please accept my condolences for the lost of your husband.
I am also sorry for the health situation you are going through.
Norovirus is the most common viral gastroenteritis during the winter because this virus is very resistant to extreme temperatures.
You are not mentioning any other symptoms rather than shake feel sick and losing weight. Usually, the symptoms of norovirus infection (NI) include:
- vomiting/nausea
- watery diarrhea
- stomach cramps
With regards to treatment, it will include:
- increasing water intake with oral rehydration solution to replace the lost fluids and electrolytes
- take tasectan/pepto bismol to stop diarrhea
- probiotics will help improve intestinal flora
- it is good that your doctor stopped medications for diabetes as your blood sugar levels (BSL) are very low.
- eating yogurt, banana, chicken soup will help provide the right nutrients without aggravating your symptoms.
If you are not able to eat/drink anything, I highly recommend to consult with your doctor to put you on intravenous therapy.
Wish fast recovery! Let me know if I can be of further help!
