Brief Answer:
The treatment is right

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Most common cause of fever with congestion like symptoms in this age is due to some viral infection. Fever may remain of high grade and may be the only symptom during initial few days.

Cough may develop after one or two days as told by your doctor.
I won't get worried if baby is active, taking feeds well, passing urine and there is no associated breathing difficulty.

Given medication and its dose is appropriate for this age. Azithral is an antibiotic and works well in upper respiratory tract infection and helps in prevention of secondary bacterial infection in a case of viral infection.

Wikoryl drops helps in relieving congestion and cold symptoms. It contains paracetamol which helps in relieving pain and fever.
Meftal P contains mefenemic acid and it is more potent in relieving the fever. So as prescribed you may give Meftal in case if occurs in spite of giving Wikoryl.

Watch for any danger signs like persistent high grade fever, poor oral intake, excessive irritability or lethargy, fast breathing or chest retraction and if you notice any please consult your pediatrician immediately. It may take 4-5 days for symptoms to subside completely.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more doubts. Wishing for your baby's speedy recovery.

Regards
