Suggest Treatment For Numbness And Soreness In Foot

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Nov 2015
Question: My calf muscles ache. My right foot is numb in terms of movement. I can move my foot forward but not back. I have been feeling soreness in my Achilles area.

The numbness began last night. Have been experiencing the leg pain for a few weeks both in calf and atop along the shin. I do have diabetis. Circulation issue? Concern for blood clot? Or early signs of stroke?

Brief Answer:
It is sign of neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can assure you that it is not due to clot or circulation problem. Most probably this is due to neuropathy. It is common in Diabetics. Cause can be compressive neuropathy where nerve compressed in spine or non compressive due to lack of B12.
I would suggest you following.
1.Make sure your Diabetes remain under control as high sugar causes nerve damage.
2.Get your serum B12 estimation and if there is low level then start taking Methylcobal tablet.
3.Spine compression usually have pain in whole leg. It needs MRI of the spine to confirm the diagnosis.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
