Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. This is a very common injury to the nose.
2. No major complication is expected.
3. Ideally, applying ice in the first few hours helps reduce any swelling. The swelling causes numbness to worsen.
4. You can get an X-ray to check for any fracture of the nasal bones.
5. An OTC anti-inflammatory, painkiller for 2-3 days (after meals) will help reduce the discomfort.
6. Other than this, no active treatment is necessary. Check the nasal shape after 2-3 weeks (after the swelling subsides).
7. Inform if the clear liquid nasal discharge or bleeding persists. Upload the X-ray image, if possible.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
