Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Numbness and tingling imply nerve imply nerve involvement. Abnormal nerve function is called neuropathy, it may be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.
It is possible to be caused by a pinched nerve or other trauma to the nerve. A nerve may be pinched by muscle or bone (as it passes from between the vertebra in the neck eg in arthritis or other changes, can get squeezed)
A stroke is not as likely a cause.
With your history of a stiff neck, it is possible that the muscle spasm is affecting the nerves in the area.
You can consider the continued use of anti inflammatory medication such as the Aleve you are using along with a muscle relaxant and warm compress to help with relaxing the muscles.
The warm compress can be used 2 to 4 times a day for 15 to 20 mins. If there is no improvement or there is any worsening or you are still concerned then you should be assessed by your doctor.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions.
