Question : I had a tooth removed six weeks ago and am still feeling numbness in my jaw.

Which tooth did you get removed?

In some cases during tooth extraction nerve branches gets damaged.

Yes it could take a month or two for the nerves to regenerate.During this period you will feel the numbness in that area.
