Question : My mother lives in Tarzana, California. I need to have her see an Orthopedic Physician. She has Humana. I am trying to rule out an conditions and discern what she may have. She is 89 yeas old. She has numbing, tingling and pain in her legs, and uses a walker because she is prone to falling. She shivers in the late afternoons, even when it is warm. What do you think?

Symptoms you describe point more towards neurological disorders than orthopedic disorders.

Spinal cord stenosis, brain atrophy and dementia, stroke are amongst conditions to consider in your mother's case.

So, in my opinion, you should get your mother to a Neurologist first.
