Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query.

I would like to gather some more information from you in order to be able to help you better.

-Do you suffer from Dandruff/Scaling OR Seborrheic Dermatitis?
-Do you use Hair Oil?
-How often do you shampoo your hair?Which shampoo do you use?
-Were the bald patches preceded by painful bumps?
-How long standing is your problem?

Scalp is rich in oil glands and this can manifest as dandruff with greasy adherent scales, itching as well as bumps.

The goal is to keep the scalp as clean as possible and not to use any hair oil.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Scalp folliculitis+hair fall treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

-Avoid using hair oil since you already have scalp infection
-I would suggest a course of an oral antibiotic for scalp infection e.g tab cefadroxil+clavulanic acid combination (tab Droxyl-CV 500 mg), twice daily for a week
-Use a ketoconazole based shampoo on alternate days e.g Nizral 2% shampoo.
-After scalp infection, hair may be temporarily shed leaving behind bald patches. However, if the infection was not deep enough to cause scaring, the hair may regenerate on its own after sometime.
-You may add an oral biotin supplement e.g tab H-Vit Forte once daily for 4-6 months
