Brief Answer:
Various suggestions for oily skin and fairness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for oily skin and protection from sunlight and fairness.

Before I proceed to your issue let me explain you elaborately regarding it- Our skin is multilayered structure which basically contains two important type of things, the one is oil glands and the other are the color producing cells.

The main cause of oil formation is basically due to hormones (chemicals which are influencing one or other body functions) in addition to the influence of certain other environmental factors causing its aggravation.

There are certain other factors such as application of oily or creamy products, over exposure to sunlight, heat and humidity also leads to formation of more oil and blockage of pores. Once these are healing they leave the most problematic thing which are either marks or scars. Therefore any of the above factors along with hormones can cause more oily skin.

After the age of 25 years there is less upsurge in the hormones and these gets stabilized and therefore less appearance of oil after 25 years. So probably you got some idea regarding your oil secretion.

For the darker skin- it is due to over production of pigment (color) by the melanocytes (the color producing cells). It is again influenced by sunlight as its main factor.

There are certain suggestions which you can follow:

1. Avoid direct sunlight on your face. Use a hat or cap or cotton cloth to cover your face. Try avoiding situations of direct continuous exposure to sunlight or heat and humidity for long hours.

2. Do not apply any creamy or oily stuff or any other cream based cosmetics over face.

3. Try to avoid any home remedies suggested by your friends or family members or otherwise self implicated therapies also. Most of the times any of the home remedies blocks more of the pores and results in more oil secretion.

4. Do not take steam or steam bath or massage.

5. Wash your scalp daily with some good shampoo.

If I were your treating doctor then would prescribed you a Oil free sunscreen in day time. I generally suggest a physical sunscreen containing Micronised Zinc oxide. These non-oily sunscreens have additional advantage of immediate sun protection because most of Chemical sunscreens are oily or creamy and gives sun protection after half an hour of sun-protection. As you have more of sun exposure, so physical sunscreens are always better in your kind of cases.

At night time I suggest my patients to apply a Kojic acid based gel for improving the fairness. It is to be applied in a very thin layer so that should not be visible to naked eye. A good nutritious diet with lots of yellow and red fruits is really helpful to improve the sun protection and color also.

Hope this information will help you.

Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for your swift follow up with your location.

I generally suggest Suncros SOFT sunscreen to my patients with your kind of sun exposure. It provides immediate sun protection. But even then the best protection is by clothes and using a hat. I further again suggest you to take a nutritious diet with fruits and vegetables.

I hope this helps.

wish you good health
