Brief Answer:
Osteoarthritis can managed in ayurveda

Detailed Answer:
Hai,

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease.
Most of the elderly people (above 55 to 60 yrs) will suffer from OA due to degenerative process occurring in Knee joint.

Normally in women menopause, obesity and calcium deficiency will precipitate Osteoarthritis.
Depending on your mothers weight Osteoarthritis condition can be managed and assessed

Inherited OA plays less significance in your concern because as age advances degeneration of Bone will occur. We cannot stop that. But we can postpone and manage and prevent progression of the condition by maintaining proper weight, maintaining the calcium level, taking joint friendly foods.

However depending on the condition and severity of your knee joint usage, oral medication will be assessed.

Ayurvedic medicines like Shilajith, Gugulu, shallaki, aswaganda, asthisamharaka, Cap Dazzle will be very much helpful in grade I and grade II osteoarthritis.

External application like XXXXXXX tailam, pinda tailam will give temporary relief.

Panchakarma therapy like janu vasti will help in stabilizing the knee joint.
Certain exercises will also help.

Foods and vegetables which contain mucilage like Okra, beans and moringa will be helpful in preventing OA and stabilizing your Knee joint.

By following the above treatment we can manage and control pain and thus avoid taking modern medication for osteoarthritis.
