Brief Answer:
Possible start of osteoarthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HealthcareMagic,
I read your question carefully and I can understand your concern.

There is a risk for osteoarthritis after the hip replacement so the cracking sound might be the beginning of it.

If it doesn't hurt, then you don't need to do anything about it, just continue to be active.
If possible, lose some weight, and that is very important if you are overweight.
When you get tired of walking, stop and rest, because it is not good to overuse the joint.
If it gets painful, you may use a stick to help you walk and leave less weight to that joint.

Keep track of the range of motion. If at any point you start having the difficulty of walking and the range of motion decreases, then see a physical therapist who can help you with that.
I would suggest supplements of Calcium and Vit D3.

If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a specialist(Orthopedician) for a thorough check-up of the joint.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Brief Answer:
It is not caused by the pinched nerve

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The pinched nerves can not be causing it.
It is localized in the joint and comes as a result of friction in the joint while you move.
If it doesn't hurt, then it is just in the beginning so just follow the advises I gave above.

Kind Regards,

Brief Answer:
Sore muscles and weakness is a result of pinched nerves.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

The soreness in your muscles is a result of the pinched nerve. When the muscle is not innervated as it should, it hurts.

I don't know if you have a local neurologist to check you, but I would recommend it. They can do a physical exam and see if the pinched nerves are causing weakness in the muscles, so they can do the necessary recommendations to avoid worsening and also give specific suggestions. You may benefit in both cases from physical therapy.

I smoke around 10 cigarettes a day. can this make pinched nerves worse?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Klarida Papaqako (9 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Smoking decreases the healing process.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Smoking does not make the pinched nerve worse, but it decreases the healing process.
It needs 4-6 weeks for these nerves to heal completely. But even a cigarette per day will increase this time significantly.

Hope this makes sense and its helpful.

Dr. Papaqako
