Question : My wife has ovarian cyst of 16cm. she is too afraid for surgery. is there any alternative to surgery? is there any harm if the surgery is delayed?
Brief Answer:
Surgery is necessary.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A cyst of size 16 cm is too large and needs to be removed surgically. If left inside it can turn cancerous, can compress ovary and reduce her chances of further pregnancy.
Taking homeopathic medicines will only delay the surgery but cannot avoid it. The surgery is a safe one and will help in retaining her ovarian function.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

we're trying to convince her for surgery. But I have a question, may be a stupid one. I read that cysts are generally not cancerous. Is it possible to explain briefly which type is cancerous & which is not
Brief Answer:
Large cysts can be cancerous.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Only simple well defined cysts are usually not cancerous. But of the cyst is a complex one or is hemorrhagic or has any internal septations or is growing gradually in size or is more than 5 cm in size then the chances of cyst being cancerous are there. Only biopsy can detect the nature of the cyst.
Hope my answer is helpful.
