Question: I am 25 years old , have two cysts on my left ovary one simple functional cyst measuring 5 centimetres and the other endometriotic cyst measuring 5.2 centimetres. I have been on Dienogest for around 6 weeks now and the latest scan report says there are 3 new anechoic cysts measuring 3.2 , 2.1 and 1.9cms.. While the endometric cystic area measured 4cms. Also there's a new cyst on my right ovary measuring 2cms.. My doctor has asked me to continue on Dienogest for 2 more months.. My concern is are the new cysts a cause of worry? Am.I doing the right thing? I also have irregular bowel movement, an urge for motion, increased motion frequency during this period specially after eating food.. I do have continuous daily bleeding and delayed periods.. Can u please suggest if I am going on the right path?

Brief Answer:
you need lap cystectomy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
As you have already been on dienogest for last 6 weeks and the number of cysts have increased and the previous cyst size is definitely more than 3.5 cm so ideally you should be opting for a diagnostic laparoscopy and ovarian cystectomy as these cysts will not reduce much on its own now as they are more than 3.5 cm in size. They have to be surgically removed and your chances of conception would be best for next 6 months post laparoscopy.
