Question : I gave my 9 year old child 1 200mg of ibuprofen. My wife gave him another one 1-1/2 hours later. My son who is the one that is sick opened the bottle and "said" he took 6 more to feel better. that is a total of 1600mg in a 2 hour span. Should i be worried?
he has a bad cough cold. he seems fine. I know the only thing to do is pump his stomach. but I really don't want to put him thru that if i don't have too

Consumption of ibuprofen 1600 mg in 2 hours duration in a child leads to overdosage of medication.

The excess amounts of medication will have adverse effects on his stomach, kidneys, body temperature and respiration.

The drug which is present in the stomach has to be removed or its absorption into blood has to be prevented by giving stomach wash.

Hence I advise you to contact emergency services for initial first aid and further treatment.
