Brief Answer:
Please give feedback?

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.

To recapitulate:Female/15 - pain in abdomen for over a year - ultrasound and endoscopy normal - pain on the right side under the ribs, slight bloating in that area.

May I know a few more details that will help you to assist you more:
- Any associated nausea, vomiting, fever, loose bowel movements or constipation?
- Radiation of the pain to back or right shoulder?
- Is there local tenderness meaning pain on pressure, particularly over the lower most ribs?
- Is she suffering from any stress or anxiety situation?
- Any other relevant points that you feel may be related or unrelated to the present problem?
- Any history of jaundice in past?

If there is local tenderness on the lower ribs, there is a possibility of costo-chondritis.

I hope this answer helps you to get an early diagnosis and plan for a proper treatment/ management, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

could pain possibly be sphincter of oddi disfunction and if so how is it diagnosed?

Answered by Dr. T Chandrakant (36 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
This is not a common condition

Detailed Answer:
Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction; causes pain as if cholecystitis, pain in the center or right of the abdomen and may have reference to the shoulder. Can cause jaundice and so on. Hence probably not a cause and can be diagnosed by MRCP, HIDA scan, ERCP, tests of blood for pancreas and liver function.
