Brief Answer:
COPD can cause such pains.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, myself Dr . Kaushal Bhavsar, I am practising pulmonologist in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX COPD is systemic disease and if not treated properly can lead to many complications like heart disease, atherosclerosis, osteoporosis, mood changes etc. So every COPD patient should recieve multi vitamins and calcium supplement to avoid osteoporosis. First and foremost proper control of COPD is needed.
I also suggest you to under go chest x ray. If it is normal than no need to worry. If something is wrong in x ray, CT thorax is needed for confirmation of malignancy.
If you have quit smoking, and your COPD is well controlled than no need to worry about this.
Start multi vitamins and calcium supplement with pain killer for rib and shoulder pain.
Hope I have solved your query . I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
