Question : I got diagnosed with an ovarian cyst a little over two weeks ago. I started my period a few days ago and then it stopped for a few hours. It started up again after probably five hours of completely stopping. It came back with extreme pain and diarrhea. The diarrhea has since gone away but the pain getting worse again. Is this something I should be worried about or just a side effect of having the cyst that is trying to go away?
Brief Answer:
Get a repeat scan done
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..
The pain in the lower abdomen and recurrent bleeding can be due to 2 reasons. One is due to bleeding into the cyst. Secondly it can be due cyst rupture.
Get a scan done to see the reason for the pain and bleeding.. If the cyst size has increased or it has undergone torsion, it might require a laproscopic removal. If it is a cyst rupture taking rest along with pain killers will decrease the pain..Diarrhoea was probably due to fluid or blood in the pouch of XXXXXXX . Consult your doctor for a check up to detect the cause..
Hope I have answered your query.. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day..
