Brief Answer:
May be muscular / neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

The complaints you have mentioned are suggestive of muscle stiffness that may be secondary to osteoarthritis. The inflammation caused due to osteoarthritis, when spreads to the surrounding muscles causes them to become tight and less flexible and stiff.

This in turn causes restricted movements and again results in more pain and stiffness. This becomes a vicious cycle and becomes very hard to walk or stand up from a sitting position.

In early stages, analgesic muscle relaxant tablets and active and passive stretching exercises are enough. Local gel application and hot fomentation helps to relax the muscles.
Avoid sitting cross legged and squatting.

Yoga exercises are immensely helpful in long term and should be done regularly.

L carnitine and calcium tablets help to strengthen the muscles.

Get a X ray done when you visit the specialist next week.Serum sodium, potassium and calcium investigations should be done to assess any derangements.

I hope the answer was useful.

If you have any queries, you can ask me anytime.

Kind regards.
