Question : I was digging to plant flowers yesterday in hard dirt, as well as mowing around trees and now have a large swelling(bulge) on my upper arm, and arm soreness. I don't know if I can treat it at home or should seek professional help.

Brief Answer:
Take rest and ice the area.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling on the upper arm could be due to muscle tear or a hematoma formation. A bone injury is less likely if you are able to move your arm normally with some pain.
The swelling due to exertion should reduce with rest and icing the area. In case the swelling is gradually increasing in size or is extremely painful then you need to consult your physician for proper examination.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
