Question : My mother has pain and twitching sensations on her right knee for the past few days. Pain is radiating down. Taken over-the-counter medication ( Aceclofenac plus Paracetamol) with temporary relief. Applying hot water pack as well. She is 69 years old. Please advise.

Did she sprain her leg in recent times ?
Any strianeous work in recent days ?
Does the calf muscle hurt on pressing ?
Is there any colour change in the leg skin ?
Is there any swelling ?

She did not have any sprain recently. No strenuous work. Some tenderness at the calf. No color changes or swelling. Also, it is in left knee, sorry I mentioned right knee.

The better solution in terms of medications would be a pain killer in combination with muscle relaxant. Aceclofenac with Chlorzoxazone is a better choice available as tab MOVON MR.

Do continue hot compresses.

Ask her to rest for a week for better recovery.
