Suggest Treatment For Pain And Yellow Discharge From The Breast
Question: My 21 year old granddaughter has some pain in her breast and a discharge from it that is not bloody or green in color. More of a pale yellow. There is a lump that is painful and when she went to the clinic to have it checked out the doctor there who referred her squeezed around on it and she said it was pretty painful. We do not have a history of breast cancer and she is not on birth control pills nor is she pregnant.

Hi, first of all please don't worry.
Cancer is a rare possibility at the age of 21.
A painful lump in the breast could be an Abscess.It might have present in the duct that is opening into the nipple which is responsible for the discharge.
But,the diagnosis will be confirmed by FNAC (Fine needle aspiration cytology).
If abscess is confirmed, the pus has to be drained under Short general anaesthesia.
If FNAC is inconclusive, I prefer to remove the entire lump and send for histopathological examination.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult a Breast surgeon/General surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
