Brief Answer:
Medication overuse Headache

Detailed Answer:
Good evening. I am Dr. Saghafi, a neurologist who also specializes in headaches. The headaches you are describing could be a couple of different things. One could be Greater Occipital Neuritis which often times gives very uncomfortable dull pain and sometimes throbbing and terrible sensations right in the mid-occipital region.

Another could be what we refer to in the Headache Clinic business as Medication Overuse Syndrome. That is when abortive medications such as triptans, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Naproxen, and a few others can be overused/abused and by virtue of that phenomenon (used more than 10-15x in a MONTH) themselves precipitate and cause bad headaches, even migraine types.

As far as the grinding tooth and noise when turning the head I believe you will need to check with both your dentist as well as orthopod to get an idea of what could be going on that can be resolved. Perhaps, a bite guard is what's needed for the chewing.....etc.

I hope this answer satisfactorily addresses your question. If so, may I ask your favor of a HIGH STAR RATING with some written feedback?

Also, if there are no other questions or comments, may I ask you CLOSE THE QUERY on your end so this question can be transacted and archived for further reference by colleagues as necessary?

All the best.

The query has required a total of 10 minutes of physician specific time to read, research, and compile a return envoy to the patient.

Cheers!
