Question : I had a polynidal cyst removed over 20 years ago and part of the old incision has reopened, it's painful. What should I do?

                                    Brief Answer:
Recurrence should be excluded.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pilonidal Sinus/Cyst is more prone for recurrence.
Usually, the whole tract is excised during surgery.
If the scar is opened and is painful,it should be examined for recurrence.
I have seen few cases of infection at the scar site which got cured after Antibiotic therapy. There was no recurrence.
Please consult your doctor, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
