Question : When diverticulitis becomes so painful you don't want to move
Brief Answer:
consider intravenous antibiotics or surgery
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Diverticulitis may be more or less sever and in most cases it can be treated with peroral antibiotics. However in cases of repeated attacks it may progress to colon inflammation and perforation so if there is no improvement after 3-4 days, you should do ct scan and consider intravenous antibiotic therapy or in some cases surgical resection of sigmoid colon. Wish you good health. Regards
