Question : Hi, I have had pancreatitis, 18 months ago. I have not had a drink of alcohol since, but when I get stressed it plays up a bit. I often get a bit of pain, not unbearable, but just a nagging pain. I am on a strict diet, eg. no gluten, no wheat, no sugar and lactose free.

I had tests at Christmas which came back with no issues, but I am getting so stressed out about the pain now as well as other things.

Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that the pain you experience is not due to pancreatitis because the pain seen in pancreatitis is much severe and unbearable and associated with vomitings etc. Since your tests had become normal at christmas I dont think there is anything to worry about .

You are already taking so much care and avoiding everything so the chances of relapse remains very low . But still if you are worried get S. lipase and amylase along with USG abdomen done to rule out any pathology.

Take care.
