Brief Answer:
Sciatica

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. You describe symptoms that are very suggestive of sciatica, which is usually caused by a pinched nerve root due to a bulging disk. More than 70% of the cases improve significantly with physical therapy and anti-inflammatories over a period of 6 months; you can also consider a local steroid injection to the affected root to help over this period of time. It is very RARE for surgery to be the first right choice for you.

Please discuss these options with your primary provider, particularly the option of a local steroid shot.

Hope this helps, wish you the best,
