Suggest Treatment For Pain In Lower Abdomen While Sneezing

default
Posted on Thu, 5 Feb 2015
Question: Painful lower abdomen 2 weeks out from period. Painful period with pain lasting 2-5 days. Pain will radiate down to legs and back also. Been this way for about 7 years with no improvements even on contraception- only depo helped as completely stopped period for me- no analgesics help; only high doses. Pain when sneezing in ovaries started only in the past few months. Ultrasound in end of 2014 and 2012 says no cysts or endo. Pain rating 7-8/10. Prevents me from daily activities, study and work. In bed nauseas for 2 days at least.

Brief Answer:
Laparoscopy needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concerns about pain.

This appears to be due to endometriosis or Adenomyosis. You need to undergo diagnostic laparoscopy to accurately identify the same. If there are endometriosis spots (not cysts), they can be burnt and treated.

Please see a neurologist also to confirm there is no vertebral disc prolapse. Even this presents with such complaints and symptoms.

I forgot to add.
- also pain present during and after sex particularly on the right ovary area
- menstrual bleeding is normal but past 6months since getting off depo, blood has been dark chocolate brown colour.

Is this in line with the other symptoms?
Can endometriosis or adenomyosisbe present even if past ultrasounds havent picked it up?

Hi

This sounds more like Endometriosis / Adenomyosis.

It is possible that past ultrasound scan have not picked it up.

Laparoscopy is best for you.
