Question : I fell on my butt 3 weeks ago (67 yr old female) within a few days had some muscle pain going upstairs, but within 10 days, it was fine. Every other day I ran in the pool for about 30 minutes. It felt better. Two days ago, I was scrubbing floor grout, and yesterday developed a very strong " pain in the butt" right cheek. Doesn,t hurt sitting or standing, sleeping, or bending over but is pretty strong walking. I've tried Naproxen and it helps a little. A cane taking weight off when I walk helps some. Could a bursitis have developed in the buttocks? What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Pelvic ultrasound&X-ray for diagnosis;physiotherapy&local analgesic treat

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the accident you had.

The strong pain you feel when walking was due to trauma on your buttock and vertebral spine of that area.

I recommend to run an X-ray of the lumbar.sacral part of the vertebral spine and of the pelvis to evaluate the changes there together with pelvic ultrasound.

Apart oral pain killers like naproxen, applying analgesic cream locally together with physiotherapy are also advised.

Wish fast recovery!
