This could be an infection!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this hole and the pains that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and this is suggestion of a possible infection. Though inflammation from trauma during chewing could be a possibility, I will rather want to eliminate an infection before settling on that as infections need greater attention and specific management than simple inflammation.
To conclude on infection, we need too examine this area. For this reason, I will suggest that you consider visiting a dentist for detailed workup. If an infection is confirmed, then you would be given a script for antibiotics as well. In the mean time, I will recommend that you continue with Advil for pains. If the pains are not well controlled, add tylenol and take both medications not more than thrice at doses recommended by your pharmacist per day. Rinsing your mouth with salt and water is nice. If you could also get an oral mouth rinse solution at any local drug store, that would also help.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
