Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ribs

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Feb 2016
Question: I've been having pain in my lower left rib cage that extends into my lower back and to my illial crest. I have suspected endometriosis and I'm wondering if this is the cause of my pain? I feel otherwise fine; no fever, nausea, chills, appetite changes, etc..

Brief Answer:
Endometriosis unlikely, other causes should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The pain below the rib cage radiating to back and iliac crest is unlikely due to endometriosis.
Endometriosis of upper abdomen and lungs is very rare and occurs in severe cases.
Other causes like muscle spasm, kidney stones, spleen enlargement should be ruled out.
I will suggest you to consult a physician for proper examination, investigation including ultrasound and X Ray and further management should be done accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.

Thank you! I'll go to the doctor in the morning. The pain is the only symptom, but I want to rule out kidney stones.
