default
Posted on Tue, 24 Nov 2015
Question: Hi, I have a sharp pain on my right back side. It hurts more when I take a deep breath. I don't know if I did something yesterday when cleaning house or if it's possibly something else. Should I go to the ER?

Brief Answer:
Tylenol, NSAIDs , ER to have peace of mind

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Such a pain can be related to back issues, gallstones leading to cholecystitis, urinary tract stone causing renal colic, UTI or even a pneumothorax. It can also be a muscle sprain. You should take Tylenol or NSAID like aspirin available to you for now. If its a muscle sprain , the pain will resolve. If the pain persists, worsens or involve the chest area then you should rush to an ER immediately. If you are concerned, you may go to an ER near you now and have it checked calmly and rule out any serious cause.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
