Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Back Of The Head And Upper Neck

Question: From past few days, I am experiencing pain in the back of my head and upper neck. The pain is on/off and goes away after a certain period of time but now I am worried as I am feeling it from few days. Can you help me overcome this pain?

I am a mother of three children all C section, my younger child is 11 months old. I am not sure if it is due to weakness or it is something else. I thought it would go away after a period of time but even after few days, I feel the pain along with dizziness sometimes.

This may be tension type headache or migraine.
Is there any nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound?
Duration of headache and number of episodes in a month?
You can take amitriptyline for relief.
Take timely breakfast and lunch.
Avoid taking excessive tea or coffee or chocolates.
Calcium supplements should be used too.

Nausea yes but no vomiting yet. Also sensitivity to light and sound "yes" during headache but normally "No".

Duration of headache is 30-40 mins and I think it daily form past 20-25 days.

You suggested amitriptyline, is this is a tablet? can you also tell how many mg (25, 50, 100 etc)? should I take twice or once a day, before or after the meal?

I am a feeding mother, is it ok take this tablet?

I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
You seems to be having migraine headache.
You can initiate with amitriptyline 10 mg at night after meals and flunarizine 10 mg once at evening.
Pain killers like naproxen can be taken during severe pain.
Take timely breakfast and lunch.
Avoid fasting, excessive tea or coffee or chocolates.
