Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Eyelid To Bee Sting

Question: Hi, I am a retired physician. Many years ago I had occasion to use a topical preparation for dermatological use that was composed of tetracaine, adrenaline and cocaine (to my best memory) to anesthetize an area of skin. I think it was called "TAC" and was carefully controlled for the reason of illegal theft or misuse. Yesterday afternoon I was stung in my right eye having been attacked by a swarm of underground bees. My right eyelid has remained in severe pain for about 12 hours, radiating to my right fronto-parietal region, nasal bridge, right cheek area and right upper teeth.
I received treatment at an immediate care office, consisting of a steroid shot, benadryl shot, and prescriptions for Medrol dosepack and Pepsid. So far the redness of the sclera has eased but the only relief of discom fort comes from placing a wet cool washcloth over the right eye.
I wonder if the Stinger still remains in the eyelid and can it be discovered by numbing up the right eyelid (with "TAC") and possibly removed? should I see a dermatologist, or ophthalmoagist?
Best advice please...

Brief Answer:
Ophthalmologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I think you should see an ophthalmologist rather than a dermatologist because if there is a stinger in the eye lid or worse in the sclera, he/she would remove it .
I think you are now on adequate medicines for allergy.
Do get back to me if you have further queries.
