Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Left Hip
Question: My Hubby experiencing pain on his left side hip for past three weeks. he feel the pain when he sits . some times he feels pain in his lower abdomen.
We took Abdomen scan and Renal function test. I attached the report of the same.
Urine culture test is still result is yet to come.
Please advice.

the ultrasound report suggests that there is infection in the left kidney which is causing enlargement in size of the kidney therefore causing pain to the patient
it can be confirmed with the help of urine report. urine report is of two types one is urine routine and other is urine culture. both should be done Also note whether the pain is in the Hip or it is above the hip on the left side of the abdomen. generally kidney pain occurs above the hip on the left side of the abdomen.
if you are having burning in the urine these can also be part of urine infection
can take Paracetamol tablet for pain and under guidance of your doctor you should take antibiotics for the urine infection. If the report of urine infection is normal then we should search for other causes of the pain.

Best is to start the patient on combination antibiotics with i/v injections and tablet levoflox. but this should be done under guidance of your treating doctor. he may suggest you to be admitted to hospital for the same , which may also be a good idea
repeat URINE test after 4 to 5 days of treatment will confirm if the patient has improved. total treatment should be 10 to 14 days
