Question : Hi, I hit my left testicle hard while mountain biking. About three hours later I'm at home and it is swollen about 1.5-2 times larger than normal. It is also quite tender still and I have some lower abdominal pain
Brief Answer:
Blood might have collected in the left half of scrotum.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Swelling in the scrotum following trauma is most commonly due to rupture of a blood vessel inside leading to collection of blood called haematoma. If blood is collected in the scrotal sac, it is called Haematocele.
Ultrasound scrotum will confirm the diagnosis.
If Haematocele is confirmed, I prefer to do surgery and remove the blood clots. Otherwise, complications like infections may supervene.
Please consult a General surgeon/Urologist , get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Nothing to worry. It will come down.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
