Brief Answer:
Vertebral traction may help.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I do not think that injections to the muscle would be a good idea. Since you have bulging discs, and since you have scoliosis, the spinal nerves are possibly getting compressed and these leads to muscle spasms over the areas being supplied. That is the reason for feeling your muscles to be knotted up. Hot compress would provide relief. Besides, you need to see a physical therapist who would be able to demonstrate the right techniques which would help you. Vertebral traction could provide relief.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
