Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Shoulders

default
Posted on Thu, 21 Jul 2016
Question: I've had pain in my left shoulder for a few months. In the past few weeks, I've had pain in my left elbow with considerable weakness. In the past 3-4 days, I've developed thoracic pain in the middle of my back, radiating in both directions, but wrapping around to the front on the left side. I have a history of lumbar problems and had two surgeries on my lumbar spine two years ago.

Brief Answer:
Probably herniated disc disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

Symptoms you describe and the progression of these symptoms are more likely related to herniated disc disease of your neck and thoracic spine.

Spondylosis also is a possible explanation.

It is necessary to get evaluated neurologically and by imaging studies of your cervical and thoracic spine such x-rays and MRI in order to understand better your condition.

Treatment depends on the diagnosis and includes few days rest, physical therapy, NSAID drugs, in first stages.

Please Discuss with your primary care Doctor initially about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
