Question : I felt top R corner tooth pain while chewing last month. It was very severe and shooting pain.It was not paining otherwise without chewing. As it was very severe, so I stopped chewing from R side.
I consulted with a doctor. He took a Xray and told that it is infectious and root canal need to be done to which I agreed and he started immediately, without any previous medication(Antibiotic etc). After 1st sitting, he prescribed me antibiotic and pain killer for 3 days. I took that.
But it again started paining after completion of this course.I felt pain behind the R eye as well as coming out from the head also.
I didn’t took any pain killer further, I did the warm saline rinses, which was very painful when the warm water was coming in contact of that tooth but afterwards it was giving relief for 3 ~4 hours.I continued doing that.
My next sitting was after 1 week which got delayed by around 10 days because of this pain.So I had next sitting after 17 days of 1st sitting. Pain was comparatively better at that time.
But after 2nd sitting , it again started paining like previously. In fact I felt heaviness in the eyes along with pain emanating from the head also.I checked with doctor, he told that it may be because of infection for which each body respond differently. In my case, it is taking little longer.I need to give time for recovery.
As per doctor, my root canal is completed and tooth is ready to be filled. In my 2nd sitting,he didn’t give any anesthesia
Today after 25 days from the 1st sitting and 6 days from the 2nd sitting, pain is still felt the same way it was in beginning. I can’t able to chew from R side. In fact in between I tried from the same and I felt very severe pain again so I stopped eating from that side.
Again warm saline rinses are helpful but when warm water touches that area, it is unbearable pain.
Infact I got my eyes also checked fearing of change in specs no but as per doctor my old no is OK.
Presently I am not having any medication and wating for the pain to improve.

Just to add, I use to felt pain coming out from my head and behind the ear for the past 1 year once in every 2~3 months.was it because of this?

My concern:
Is everything normal?
How long I will have to wait?
Is any medication required, if it is infectious?
Heaviness in eyes, specially R eye ad pain coming out from the head.It is linked with this tooth?
Pain during warm saline rinse is unbearable but after that it gives relief for 3 hrs.It is normal?
How to proceed further?
Am I getting the right treatment?
Pl advice

Brief Answer:
Needs medication..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your description, yes the pain in head, ear and also eye are related to pain in tooth as severe pain in tooth can cause radiating pain in these areas..

Secondly your Root Canal Treatment is not appearing to be appropriately done , as if the Dentist says that the tooth is ready to be filled then it should have become painless by now..
If any of the root canals are missed to be cleaned during the procedure then there can be persistent pain..

You should not get the Root canals filled till the pain completely subsides as the condition can worsen..

As of now you should take antibiotics and painkillers and follow the prescription the Dentist has given you..

You can once consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and x ray can be taken along with clinical checkup of canals to rule out the cause and treatment can be done further..

No point waiting further as it is enough of time you waited..

Any further questions are welcome..

Regards..
