Posted on Fri, 8 Jul 2016
Question: Hi Doctors, I m feeling sensitivity and little pain in my upper left jaws from the past 3-4 days. Its very difficult consuming chilled water. On investigating physically, I am unable to see anything wrong in jaws. Kindly suggest.

Thanks
XXXX

I already wrote that, physically nothing visible like tooth decay etc. Problem also doesnt seems to be severe.
Please suggest some prescription before visiting dentist.

Brief Answer:
Meet a dentist

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are pain in jaw , and I guess more pain on taking cold water.
These are symptoms of the teeth decay.
You will need to meet a dentist.
It will need a short procedure like root canal and capping.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Dental decay start from the root of the tooth which lies deep in the jaw bone and therefore not visible. You will need to get a x ray for the same.
I still suggest meeting a dentist first.
Since you insist on meeting the dentist later I think a combination of metronidazole tablets thrice a day with betadine mouth wash 4 to 6 times a day should help in the meantime.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
