Brief Answer:
Mostly muscular, local warm compress and meds as suggested would help

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX I am Dr. Mody and I will be addressing your concern.
I went in detail with the history provided, considering you to a be fit 28 year old person, and the site of pain, it's less likely that it is of cardiac origin.
So some associated symptoms will help us narrow down our diagnosis.
1) does the pain increase or decrease with movement of arm or neck, have you been weight lifting, sleeping in wrong position, than in most likelihood it's muscular in origin
2) do you have associated cough or runny nose, viral symptoms, than the lungs should be evaluated.
3) lesser likelihood. Do you have a weak stomach, I mean symptoms of Pain in middle of chest, burping which increase or decrease with food intake, reflux gastritis should be thought.
4) only if pain increases with exertion, associated with sweating, cannot be localised at one point, you are a smoker, obese, strong family history than heart may be evaluated further.
In all probability, you may try taking
Tab dolonex DT (20) twice a day, tab neksium (40) once in morning for 3 days and it should help.
Lastly any recent change in lifestyle in last week may help us colobrate the origin of pain.
Some more detail on type of pain and associated symptoms, any recent investigation may help me narrow down the diagnosis.
However I would like to reassurance you that in all probability the pain, is non specific for anything serious.
Would let you know If any investigation needed after the details, presently none.
Hoping I could help.

Brief Answer:
Mostly the pain is related to lungs infection, Any analgesic would help

Detailed Answer:
Thanks XXXX for the answer,
This helps me get more details and narrow down upon the diagnosis.
In most probability this is what we call pleuritic pain, it means the pain arising from the covering of the lungs (pleura) , now as you had a respiratory tract infection which might have involved the lungs and so forth the pleura, so when you take a deep breath or cough you may have a sharp pain in the upper chest, this with time would become more continuous, also viral infection causes considerable muscle soreness which may increase the pain.
Now what should we do for it? If the cough is resolving and no fever, we can wait,
Tab dolo (650mg) as needed may be taken, it contains plain paracetamol, XXXXXXX 4 times a day.
You may consider an antibiotic if persistent , as even though viral to start with you have a fair chance to develop secondary bacterial infection.
Lastly a chest x ray sos, to rule out development of pneumonia, though with resolution of symptoms and no fever, it shouldn't be much of a worry..
Hoping that would answer your doubt
Any confusion, do revert.
