Suggest Treatment For Pain In Upper Left Shoulder Area Indicate

default
Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: Starting in November I was getting upper back pain in between my shoulder blades. It went away for a couple of months and now it has returned. It's mainly in my upper left shoulder area and sometimes on my right side. I have had my gallbladder checked as well as my esophagus. Would this pain be related to my lungs? I have no cough, and no respiratory problems either. Could this be just muscle related? I do carry around a 30lb child everyday.

Brief Answer:
Muscular pain is more likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
By your history and description, in my opinion it is muscular pain mostly.
At your age of 33 ,cardiac cause is less likely. But left shoulder pain is seen commonly with cardiac diseases.
So better to get done ECG. If ECG is normal then no need to worry for cardiac cause.
Possibility of lung related cause is less likely in your case because you are not having cough or other respiratory symptoms.
But better to get done chest x ray to rule out pulmonary causes.
So muscular pain is more likely in your case but better to rule out cardiac and pulmonary causes by ECG and chest x ray, respectively.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
