Question : I HAVE PAIN IN MY UPPER RIGHT QUADRANT. IT'S USUALLY A DULL PAIN, SOMETIMES I GET SHARP SHOOTING PAINS THAT LAST ABOUT 15 SECONDS AFTER I SNEEZE SOMETIMES. MY STOOL IS DARK. I DON'T THINK BLACK, BUT VERY DARK. I'M NAUSEATED ALL THE TIME. I THREW UP TWO DAYS AGO AFTER EATING, AND THERE WAS SOME BLOOD IN IT. I HAVE HAD A MRI WITH CONTRAST A COLONOSCOPY, AN ENDOSCOPY AND BLOOD WORK AND IT ALL CAME OUT FINE. THE TEST WERE DONE IN FEBUARY. I TAKE PRILOSEC AND GAVISCON. ANY IDEAS WHAT COULD BE WRONG??

THANK YOU,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
It could be cholecystitis.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the details provided. It seems to be due to a gall bladder pathology. It could be due to cholecystitis. I would be glad if you could upload the MRI report and ultrasound report (if it has been done already). It will enable me to comment better on the situation.
I would await your response.

My gallbladder was taken out about 15 years ago, so I know it's not that. Could it be a bleeding ulcer that was missed during the endoscope? I know the constant nausea bothers me the most.

Brief Answer:
I do not think that you need to worry about a missed finding in endoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
If there is a bleeding ulcer, it is unlikely to be missed on an endoscopy. So, would not keep it in consideration. I would insist you to get your blood checked for lipase, amylase and Liver function test. After that I would insist you to upload the reports including that of the MRI. You can do so using the facility on the upper right of this page. Based on that perhaps I could be able to guide you further.
