Brief Answer:
No this doesn't seem to be Lyme disease or MS !!!

Detailed Answer:
Warm Welcome. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.

I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

Based on the present history and symptoms and no previous history of specific tick bite and its skin rash (erythema migrans EM) it is less likely to be Lyme disease. Lyme disease also involves knee joints and usually there is joint pains that migrates from one joint to other.

MS has different clinical picture and also contains some neurologic manifestations (loss of brain's normal functioning) and also we can't just say with surety about it unless we are done with an MRI of the brain to shoe single or multiple lesions of MS.

Such kind of pains may be of endocrine diseases like Thyroid, diabetes. OR blood pressure issues, Fluid and electrolyte imbalances, deranged Calcium levels in blood. All of this may cause muscle pains and stiffness. Thyroid tests being normal now, we need to screen you for diabetes. For that Fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c levels are needed. Also ask your physician to screen you for blood pressure issues as this also causes problems like this.

Other causes may be blood disorders and/or heart issues. If a patient has low red blood cell count, or low hemoglobin levels, it may also lead to symptom of musculoskeletal system involvement as you are having.

Spinal issues (intervertebral disc herniation, spinal bony degenerative disease) may also cause such kind of pains. Nerve impingement may also be a reason in these conditions.

If someone have low Vitamin levels like B12, D, or other B complex vitamins, it may also cause such issues.

I preferably suggest you to go for thorough evaluation of the issues discussed. For that consult your Primary care Physician to rule out at his own level for any of the suspicions. He then may refer you to a specialist if needed e.g. an Orthopedist if suspicious spinal issues.

For pain., you may get symptomatic relief from:

Apply Bengay Ultra Stretch Ointment on the painful areas and massage it gently.
Apply Thermacare Heat-Wraps on the affected areas for relief from pain and to get soothing effect. It helps relieve muscle stiffness. Physical Therapy also impacts magical in such issues if there is no underlying metabolic disorder.

Vitamin supplementations may help after screening for any deficiency.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. For any disease you have, a timely follow-up is necessary regarding the treatment efficacy and to see if there is a need to change treatment options. So keep a follow up to see how you doing (Always write down my name in start of your questions at this forum & I will be with you in no time).
